Introducing ALP's Monthly E-News
Welcome to the November edition of The Leading Edge, ALP's monthly e-news bulletin. This will provide a monthly snapshot of ALP events/updates, insights from recent gatherings of colleagues, and news and notes from leadership groups around the country. We hope you come to look forward to receiving this as a valuable resource each month. Would YOU be willing to help produce content or do you have ideas on what would make this tool valuable? Send them to Lura Hammond at alpleaders@gmail.com and she will convey them to the Marketing Committee. Look for added features in the months to come!
Leadership Connections Kicks Off with Great Ideas
ALP’s first teleconference kicked off on September 29th with over 65 leaders from around the nation sharing ideas and information about Engaging Alumni. Facilitators included Bernie Pritchard, Leadership Greenville, SC; Kevin Stotts, Leadership Grand Rapids, MI; and Jan Furtick, Leadership Garland, TX.
A second group came together on October 27th to explore Experiential Learning. The call featured leadership and insights from Craig Rider, The Rider Group, OH; Sandi Coan, Leadership Greenville, SC; and Dick Hammond, Leadership On The Move, TX.

ALP, Greenleaf Joining Forces for National Conference
ALP is pleased to announce a collaboration with the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. ALP has entered into an agreement with the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership to offer admission to the 2011 National Conference at the discounted rate of $550. This price is a significant savings over regular registration fees to the conference, and will be available only to ALP members. The Greenleaf Center conference will be held June 8-10 at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
We will be offering four workshops that are specifically designed for community leadership programs, and a reception/recognition event for the Preceptor Award and Distinguish Leadership Award during the conference for our members. Kevin Stotts of Leadership Grand Rapids and Dick Hammond of Leadership on the Move are heading up the ALP presence at the Greenleaf International Conference. These activities will supplement the strong line-up of presenters and keynotes on servant and community leadership already slated for the conference. For more info see the Conference Page on the Greenleaf website.
The RFP for the 2010 Annual Conference will soon be available on the ALP website: www.alp-leaders.net
